For my Professional Development class, I had to develop a PD plan, and that allowed me to look more deeply into the new AP Computer Science A curriculum changes that are most likely going into effect next school year. I am really excited about them.

CSAwesome already has the ability to do file input, so it should be a good opportunity to build projects that let students do data analysis with larger amounts of data. This makes using loops for common mathematical algorithms (like average, min, max, etc.). It also gives us a great opportunity for student choice and voice since they can pick data sets that they find interesting to analyze. I always do data analysis projects on Pokemon.
If all goes well, I hope to turn this PD project into a 6-hour training that I can give next summer to CSAwesome teachers who want to learn about the new curriculum. I've been giving trainings for a few summers now, but I've never actually written my own. It's rather exciting.
